Cronos

All the photographs are black and white and there is a wide variety of subjects. Ten years or so elapse between the first and the last photos in each series. Many are portraits, and quite a lot are nudes. But this is definitely not an erotic book (although all of the images have an aesthetic beauty). This is an essay without words about the effect of the flow of time on human beings, but it is also an essay in the friendship which the photograher clearly has with all the subjects (all of them are his family and friends). My favourite images are the portraits of some of the older people: as well as being full of wisdom and beauty, some of them almost seem to defy the passage of time, and grow younger as time flows by.
